The Staff RF Test Electrical Engineer will participate in various phases of testing satellite to ground communications systems.  You will work collaboratively with engineers of various disciplines to develop the RF test frameworks, custom PCBAs and other hardware, and execute unit, subsystem, and system level tests.
 
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in RF custom electronics design and testing.
 
This position will report to the Director of Electrical Engineering and will work closely with the Electrical, Software, and Systems Engineering teams.  The successful candidate will be based in our Saratoga, CA office.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop RF test architectures for PCBA unit level, subsystem and system wired, and system over-the-air tests.
  • Develop test procedures in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
  • Design and build automated test platforms including custom RF PCBAs, harnesses, fixtures, software, and off-the shelf equipment.
  • Execute characterization and validation testing of RF comms system components including PCBAs, subsystems, and systems in both wired and over-the-air scenarios.
  • Execute qualification and production acceptance testing including ambient functional and environmental tests.
  • Support DUT anomaly resolution
  • Work with flight hardware designers on design-for-test strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering and production best practices to support most efficient manufacturing.

What you bring to this role

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Antenna design skills
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer
  • C/C++ or Python skills
  • FPGA design skills.
