About the role & team

The QE team’s mission is to consistently deliver high quality products to our customers, we do that by building high quality, automation focused engineering culture at Robinhood.

As a Staff Quality Engineer on the team, you'll directly impact the lifeline of the business by maintaining a high bar for quality of our award winning iOS, Android, and Web app. You'll own major features and will be working closely with different disciplines across the company.

What you’ll do

  • Owning new feature quality through inception, design feedback, implementation, and launch
  • Leading the quality efforts of major product areas spanning multiple engineering teams to deliver high impact products
  • Defining test strategy and building test plans for new features as well as improvising on existing test plans for feature updates and customer feedback
  • Leading end to end test automation efforts across the product teams to achieve high velocity, high quality releases
  • Owning the communication and collaboration with multiple stakeholders like Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Product Designers, Backend Engineers, Frontend Engineers and Customer Support.
  • Drive high impact technical and organizational initiatives to set a high bar of quality for the organization

What you bring

  • Strong quality sense and experience working closely with mobile and web client development teams
  • Excellent communication skills and passion for tough technical problems
  • Experience automating end to end UI tests for mobile and web apps
  • Experience in championing customer feedback post-launch and bringing it to the attention of relevant teams
  • 8+ Years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or in related field, or equivalent work experience

Bonus

  • Familiarity with consumer centric Mobile and Web app testing
  • Product intuition and user empathy
  • Experience ensuring a consistent user experience across different platforms
  • Familiarity with bug reporting systems like Jira and test case management tools like TestRail
  • Experience working and collaborating with offshore teams
  • Self-drive to improve the app experience above and beyond what's outlined in the spec
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks like Appium, Pytest and Selenium. Experience in programming languages like Python, Java, Swift for iOS, Espresso for Android preferred.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
