What’s the role?

The Product Marketing team at Etsy drives high value actions that enable customer growth and loyalty by developing the story and go-to-market strategy for what we’re building. We partner cross functionally to bring buyer and seller products and features to market and drive engagement with features post launch.  

As a Product Marketing Manager, you’ll lead go-to-market strategies that support experience improvements for buyers and sellers. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that we provide excellent customer experiences for both sides of the Etsy marketplace and working with a team to innovate and contribute meaningfully to our long term company strategy. 

We’re looking for someone who is an excellent collaborator and communicator, is passionate about customer experience, and who has experience with B2B marketing. 

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Product Marketing, Seller Services and the base salary range will be $146,000 - $190,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. 

This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn office in an in-person or flex capacity. Candidates living within commutable distance of the Brooklyn Hub, may be the first to be considered.

  • Product Marketing partners closely and constantly with cross-functional partners in product management, research, analytics, brand, and within marketing. 

  • You’ll be working closely with partners to define strategies, determine market fit and positioning for products and features, and bring products and features to market in a way that clearly communicates them and builds excitement about Etsy.

  • You’ll lead competitive analysis to assess market fit and build strategies & positioning from data and insights.

 

What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Owning the go-to-market strategy and marketing roadmap specific to seller services across Etsy including fulfillment, seller experiences, and keeping the marketplace safe. 

  • Serve as a key collaborator between the Product and Marketing organizations.

  • Define the target audience, craft clear positioning statements and clearly articulate and communicate Etsy’s unique seller services strategy and value proposition for buyers and sellers.

  • Develop and align on-site and off-site marketing plans to communicate new features and experiences in collaboration with channel owners and the broader marketing team.

  • Set clear, measurable goals and track progress against them - making continuous recommendations for how we can improve.  

  • Sharing your work with peers and leadership for feedback and iteration.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • 5+ years of marketing, brand, product marketing, and/or consulting experience, preferably at an e-commerce company or two-sided marketplace.

  • Strong understanding of and experience leading B2B marketing 

  • Experience using data to inform strategies and tell a strong narrative

  • Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams while maintaining great relationships 

  • Creative with a passion for solving complex problems

  • Experience distilling complex concepts into customer-facing messages 

  • Track record of driving strong growth and results through marketing strategies and campaigns

  • Thrive in an independent, high energy environment where tasks, priorities, and projects change rapidly.

  • Ability to bring partners together to rally around GTM Strategies and make decisions

  • Passionate about Etsy’s mission and are brimming with ideas on how we could do it better.

  • Love market research! You know your market, customers, and competition better than anyone, and you’re strong at integrating this information into your growth strategies.
