Role Summary

We are excited to offer this opportunity for our second product designer to play a key role in shaping the future of Adaptive. Your expertise will drive the design of impactful, user-centric products, ensuring that our tools meet the needs of small business builders nationwide.

Reporting to the Lead Designer, you will collaborate with product and engineering teams to lead the design of key product features. This role will be instrumental in defining product experiences, evolving design systems, and conducting frequent user research to validate our solutions. While the current focus is on individual contribution, there is potential to mentor or manage junior designers as the team grows.

Though we are a distributed team, we have an office based in NYC and this role will be expected to come into the office a couple days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of new product features in collaboration with product management and engineering partners

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design solutions and improve product experiences

  • Define and maintain design systems to ensure consistent and scalable design across the platform

  • Provide occasional support for marketing design initiatives, including the creation of campaign visuals and assets

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align product vision, business needs, and user needs

  • Mentor and guide junior designers as the team scales, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in product design, ideally in SaaS or startup environments

  • Strong expertise in UX/UI design, user research, and design systems

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage complex projects from concept to delivery

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Bonus: Experience with marketing design or creating visual content

  • Adaptability and comfort with fast-evolving processes in a growing team

Compensation

The annual base compensation range for this role is $182k-205k USD plus top-tier equity and benefits.
