About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Insurance Underwriter to join our underwriting team and help us achieve our goals through diligent risk assessment and exceptional customer service.
Location
This is a hybrid role in our downtown Austin,Texas office.

What You'll Do
- Assess and analyze insurance applications to determine risk levels and appropriate coverage.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients to facilitate the underwriting process.
- Review and evaluate insurance policies to ensure compliance with company standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with other underwriters and team members to share insights and develop best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging risks to inform underwriting decisions.
- Provide support to senior underwriters on complex cases and special projects as needed.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support underwriting decisions.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance underwriting.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with underwriting software and tools is a plus.
- Professional designations such as AU, AINS, or equivalent are preferred.
