Gigamon is seeking Staff Hardware Engineer to perform board-level circuit design, bring-up, and validation, and coordinate JDM/ODM/OEM projects. The candidate will be part of a small, dynamic team and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Help define high-level system design specifications.
Create HW functional specifications.
Board-level digital circuit design using OrCAD or similar tools, bring-up and validation
Work with mechanical engineering on mechanical and thermal solutions, system assembly, and integration.
Understand optical communications technologies and drive the qualification of new and sustaining existing optics, including transceivers and passive splitters.
Responsible for the design of new products as well as the support of existing products.
Responsible for components selection and qualification.
Support and coordinate prototype builds and validation at contact manufacturer and/or JDM/ODM partners.
Support and coordinate environmental and compliance testing, manage certifications and reports and support customers for compliance questions and requests.
Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
8+ years of design experience in networking, embedded, or optical products.
Experience with high-speed board design
Experience with low-noise, high-efficiency, on-board power regulator design
Board-level debug and validation skills
Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Experience writing product specifications, test plans, and test procedures.
Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities effectively to meet deadlines
Ability to recognize problems, gather data, draw valid conclusions
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including platform and application software teams and manufacturing
Bonus:

The base salary compensation range targeted for this role based out of Gigamon's Santa Clara, CA, Headquarters office is $137,500 - $172,000, with an opportunity to earn an annual bonus or commission (subject to terms and conditions of the plan). This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
