The Places and Build organization at Zoox is a nimble and diverse group of professionals that manage the Real Estate portfolio, design, construction of bespoke office and industrial environments, maintenance of these facilities, and delivery of culinary services across the Bay area- with new cities being acquired throughout 2024 and beyond.
We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Facilities manager who will organize and manage facility operations throughout our East Bay Area portfolio. Our portfolio consists of leading-edge office environments, micro-kitchens, kitchens/cafes, and a variety of technical support spaces that include R&D labs, prototyping shops, testing labs, maintenance facilities, charging infrastructure, and ID studios.
You will be detail-oriented with strong technical knowledge (MEP systems), and financial management skills and possess excellent and open customer-service abilities while engaging across all departments and cross-functional teams (Places and Build, IT, security, food, events, etc,) at Zoox.
In this role, you will:
- Manages internal and external resources to drive superior facility services and workplace functions across the East Bay (Fremont/Tracy/Atwater/Hayward) to ensure that all tasks are performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively.
- Collaborate with project managers and contractors to plan and execute site-related projects, including facility expansions, renovations, and improvements.
- Drive innovative approaches and solutions with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and leadership that provide exceptional services in the workplace
- Collaborate with execs, EAs, department leads, and internal support teams (design, construction, IT, occupancy planning, food, event planners, EHS, security, etc.) to design/deliver proper service levels across the portfolio
- Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of all mechanical/electrical and utility systems
- Serves as the primary point of contact for all facilities-related issues in EastBay offices, RD, and Manufacturing spaces.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of facility operations management experience in technology and industrial industries
- Exceptional organization and multitasking skills, capable of prioritizing and handling multiple demands at once.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact at all levels, including execs, Zoox crew, guests, vendors, and team members.
- Experience managing industrial and manufacturing spaces (fabrication shops, R&D labs, logistics, etc.)
- Above average knowledge of building systems & maintenance (HVAC, fire life safety, lighting, electrical, plumbing, EV charging stations, etc.)
- Ability to manage vendors, develop bid specifications, and negotiate prices for all goods and services
Bonus Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Professional Certifications: CFM, FMP
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $136,000 to $165,000 annually. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
