About the role

We are looking for an ambitious and highly motivated Staff Engineer, Embedded Test to design and develop various Battery test activities with strong leadership and technical expertise coupled with excellent communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment. As a Staff Engineer, Embedded Test, you will join a team focused on Battery Testing of all Enphase IQ Battery variants product within Enphase Energy. You will participate, lead, understand the problems and come up with list of use cases those can be executed in the product verification lab. Develop test plans and test strategies, draw test bed schematics and setup complete end to end Battery product with Gateway module for various countries. You will also interact with offshore teams, perform end to product test and publish results to key stakeholders while acting as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the assigned projects. What you will do

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans for Battery storage systems with Embedded Systems, IOT. 
  • Active participation in engineering forums: review technical documents, product and design specifications, provide feedback from system test prospective and develop detailed test scenarios. 
  • Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) within projects concerning multiple Enphase systems. 
  • Review and analyse product requirements, specifications and technical design documents and come up with test plan and test cases. 
  • Design and develop test bed schematics, product test setups in the Lab for end to end Battery system validation. 
  • Work in cross-functional teams like development, hardware, firmware. 
  • Execute test, log bugs in Jira, troubleshoot issues and provide detailed analysis of the issues found 
  • Lead bug triage discussions, provide the impact analysis of the issues found by the System Test Team, have consensus from stakeholders to fix the issues before releasing product to the field. 
  • Lead / mentor a team of system test engineers and Provide technical leadership. 
  • Development and maintenance of automated test frameworks and test scripts. 
  • Execute automated as well as manual test cases on every release or feature complete. 
  • Discuss with the development feature owner to define test plan/cases for that feature and automate the test cases as well.

 

Who you are and what you bring

  • B.E. and 8+ years’ experience outside of university or Masters and 6+ years with Electrical and Electronics Engineering specialisation. 
  • Experience in Embedded system-based product testing with electrical products like Inverters, Battery functionality, Battery Management Unit/system etc.,
  • Worked extensively on Firmware Validation
  • Experience in Python and Python based Test Frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Robot Framework, Jenkin based Automation, Test Framework development, Git, Bit Bucket, Jama, Test rail.
  • Sound Knowledge in Automating Interaction via USB/UART/CLI/SSH. 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Proactive and strong analytical/debugging skills. 
  • Ability to work on a fast-paced environment. 
  • Good Team Player and Self-driven towards Result and Quality. 
  • Understanding of energy storage, micro grid and renewable energy systems, power electronic circuits-low power, high power. 
  • Desire and passion to change the world 
  • Must have experience working with international teams 
  • Ability to work effectively within a team 
  • High level of self-motivation and drive to make an impact and Strong interest in being hands-on in the lab 
  • Presentation and communication skills, experience working across various functional teams in fast-paced team environment. 
  • Hands-on Experience with laboratory test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, power analysers and setting up complex systems for end-to-end validation 
  • Must have experience working with filed application engineers and translating field issues in use cases for system testing. 
  • Must have Test experience in any of these technologies, Embedded Systems, IOT, Solar, EVSE, Battery Storage Systems 
  • Hands on Experience working with Agile methodologies, OS, Git, Jenkins. 
  • Experience with test management tools such as TestRail, Jama, DOORs.
