Job Description

As an experienced Data Engineer on the Transducer and Test Engineering team at Butterfly, you will be responsible for the health of Butterfly current Data Infrastructure and propose improvements in terms of scalability, ease of deployment and cost. Your focus will be primarily on the manufacturing and production data flows coming from disparate data stores and automated data post processing pipelines. You will also work across the organization on the development of custom visualization tools to help business owners answer key questions.  

We are looking for a Data Engineer with a passion for data and programming skills to support clients make important decisions.  

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be: 

  • Sustain and improve the existing Data infrastructure through debugging, code reviews, and documentation.
  • Propose improvement for deployment and updates of test systems and data pipelines at the different contract manufacturers.
  • Collaborate cross functionally on Data processing architecture, Data visualization and Dashboard systems as well as test software development. 

 

Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

  • Great Python programmer
  • Great SQL query writing skills
  • Comfortable with git, preferably using GitHub
  • Experience with DBT 
  • DevOps, CI/CD experience
  • Familiar with Google Cloud Platform

Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):

  • Working knowledge of Docker
  • Experience with Airflow 
  • Experience with python data engineering libraries such as Pandas.
  • Strong background in data structures, algorithms, and software architecture
  • Knowledge of Tableau or Sigma Computing tools.
