Position Summary
The Staff Compliance Auditor will work closely with engagement leaders & other staff to ensure the efficient & timely completion of compliance audits for Title IV & Higher Education clients. You will also provide superior service to our external clients and internal stakeholders.
What will you do in this role?
- Consult with clients on various accounting and reporting standards and regulatory requirements that impact private schools or higher education institutions.
- Work on compliance audit and attestation engagements for private schools & higher education clients such as, but not limited to student financial aid, single audit guidance, federal reporting requirements, & more
- Work cohesively with other Sikich personnel through collaboration as an engagement team.
- Periodically traveling to various client sites to meet and discuss compliance needs, providing a superior client relationship experience.
- Manage multiple time-sensitive requests while meeting anticipated filing & reporting deadlines
- Consistently seek training & development opportunities to hone audit and reporting skills, always looking for opportunities to excel
What do you need to succeed in this role?
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Prior experience with Title IV compliance requirements or Financial Aid auditing a plus, but not required.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office platforms.
- Effective communication, organization, & project management skills.
- Proven ability to develop comprehensive reports and detailed presentations.
- Ability to interpret & articulate financial or compliance information, as well as audit findings to a variety of clientele.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required
