Location: Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
FLASH is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. This role will support one of our Division Controllers who is based in Canada with managing the financial close process, performing reconciliations of key General Ledger (GL) accounts, and driving continuous improvements. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries for assigned ledger accounts during financial close.
- Conduct monthly account analysis and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Record and post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals as needed.
- Oversee and ensure timely processing of financial transactions and vendor invoices.
- Assist with month-end closing activities and financial audits.
- Support external and internal audit processes by providing requested documentation and analysis.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency in routine -- tasks.
- Handle ad hoc projects related to accounting and finance as assigned by the Controller.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (Licenciatura) in Accounting or in process of completion.
- At least 3 years of experience in public accounting or within a private company, preferably in a high-growth or international environment.
- Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ability to apply them to various scenarios.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) with a strong ability to analyze financial data.
- Experience with NetSuite or other ERPs is a plus.
- Self-starter with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Spanish.Curious, proactive, and eager to learn, with a desire to drive improvements in accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
