Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant will have a critical and highly visible role as the team member managing day-to-day accounting operations for Ambient.ai. You will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and results-driven and have a major impact on the way processes are built and implemented to support the company’s significant growth trajectory. This role will routinely partner with others across multiple functions ensuring proper alignment with policies and controls for financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP. This role reports directly to the Assistant Controller at Ambient.ai.

What you will contribute:

• Assist in the clean-up of prior year financials and bring accounting in-house from an outsourced vendor – developing robust accounting procedures, policies, and internal controls
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis for assigned accounts, identifying and resolving any differences within the close period. Reconciliations must be accurate, and complete
• Compile and prepare entries to general ledger accounts, providing support that is organized, accurate, and descriptive
• Own the overall AR/AP, prepaid, fixed assets, expense reimbursements and payroll, applying a thorough understanding of the business and Company process/policy (i.e. proper approvals, accounting coding, timing, etc.)
• Perform ad hoc analysis and process improvement projects

What you bring to Ambient.ai:

• Bachelor’s degree in business (Accounting/Finance) or related field
• 2+ years of experience, in an accounting environment, Big 4 or fast-paced SaaS company a plus
• Strong knowledge of accounting (debits, credits, financial principles, reconciliations)
• Superior Excel skills a plus
• Excellent organizational & communication skills, along with being extremely detail-oriented
• High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability
• Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Ability to demonstrate a positive and flexible work attitude

We take a market-based approach to pay here at Ambient.ai, and pay may vary depending on multiple factors. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, level, market conditions, and internal parity.

Base salary is just one component of our total rewards package. As a fast-growing start-up, our regular employees are also granted stock options, and an opportunity to succeed when Ambient.ai succeeds. As a young start-up with product market fit, our stock upside is substantial, and a large part of our total rewards strategy.

The pay scale below represents the starting hourly range we expect to pay for this position, and is subject to change*:

SF Bay Area: $40/per hour
