Our People Technology team is looking for a senior software engineer in Bengaluru (Bangalore) to deliver world-class software for our business partners. You will report to the engineering manager and work as an individual contributor participating in the designing and development of software. This role will involve collaboration with business partners, multiple Visa IT teams, and third-party vendors.
The portfolio includes SaaS (software as a service) and on premises hosted packaged applications such as Workday, Cornerstone, ADP, Smart Recruiters, ServiceNow, and some homegrown solutions. The candidate will be able to easily understand business requirements and be forward thinking to identify problems that may be effectively resolved with Technology solutions. Additionally, this position provides 8x5 application administration and user support services, working primarily with business users to provide technical support and coordinate timely and effective resolution to questions and issues associated with the HR & Learning Systems integrations.

Responsibilities:
- Code, document, and implement new applications and as well as existing programs
- Contribute to enhancements, and corrections to existing applications codebase
- Develop code that complies with design specifications and meets security and best practices. Coding must adhere to all standards for security, be easily maintainable and have high system performance.
- Define and monitor code quality, Set coding standards
- Conduct code reviews, conduct design reviews, Conduct unit testing
- Implement development automation, define development agility, define release agility
- Collaborate with Development and QA engineers on individual and team deliverables
- Comfortable working in a loosely structured, fast-paced organization
- Create documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance
- Build working relationships with global and virtual teams on software development
- Identify opportunities for future enhancements and refinements to standards and development methodologies.
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 - 6 years of experience with the Microsoft .NET core, C# coding and the Visual Studio IDE and TFS (Team Foundation Server) and Bitbucket
- Experience in Microsoft SQL Server and TSQL

Experience with building user interface using HTML, CSS, Angular Framework
- Experience working effectively with business and IT staff in multiple locations and in a multinational environment is very strongly preferred
- Proven experience in eliciting and elaborating business requirements, drafting system design specifications, and developing technical solutions
- Strong follow-through, ability to drive to closure and resolution of complex system issues. Excellent problem identification, analysis and solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to absorb, analyze, and understand latest information, technologies, and practices quickly
- Experience working in Agile environment
- Experience with incorporating continuous integration and continuous delivery, utilizing technologies such as GIT, Azure DevOps
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
