About the role:
Enphase Energy is seeking a talented, driven, and experienced Strategic Salesperson to partner with electric utility companies to both sell Enphase solutions to utilities and develop utility programs that use Enphase energy solutions. The ideal candidate will be adept at both selling to utilities and influencing utility programs and is energized by generating revenue, understanding policy details, independently solving problems, and managing RFIs/RFPs. You will report to the Senior Sales Director for North American Strategic Accounts. In alignment with the corporate and regional strategy, you will drive Enphase revenue and share growth. In this role, you will be the utility subject matter expert working closely with sales, business development, policy, product management, finance, operations, and legal to position Enphase for mutually beneficial revenue, profit, ESG, and public relations goals with the utilities.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with electric utility companies to develop and implement residential and commercial solar or storage incentive programs, including virtual power plants and equipment RFP/RFI.
- Manage pipeline of utility opportunities including prioritizing top-of-funnel leads and Enphase resources to respond to
- Become the organization's expert in utility subject matter and organize the cross-functional teams.
- Act as a consultant and partner to other sales representatives, providing insights and guidance on engaging with electric utility companies.
- Manage and respond to RFQs/RFPs, demonstrating a deep understanding of the utility landscape and effectively positioning Enphase Energy's offerings.
- Develop a strategic solution roadmap when needed to position Enphase Energy solutions with utilities, focusing on both quick wins and long-term success.
- Willingness, desire, and ability to program manage and coordinate sustaining support for successful opportunities.
Who you are and what you bring:
- A minimum of 7 years of proven B2B sales experience in a high-tech industry
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working with or for utility companies
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience - preferred
- Ability to work with and influence programs related to solar, battery, and virtual power plants.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of motivation and the ability to drive revenue generation in a dynamic environment.
- Deep understanding of utility subject matter, demonstrated through successful engagement with electric utility companies.
- Experience in managing RFQs/RFPs and proven ability to secure successful outcomes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Travel Required - 50%

The pay range for this position is on-target earnings $145,000 to $210,000 per year, dependent on candidate location. This salary range may be modified in the future. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, education or training, work location, and market conditions. This position is also eligible for equity, and benefits.
