Pinterest is one of the fastest growing online ad platforms and our success depends on keeping the platform a safe and positive place, while connecting Pinners with the most relevant advertisers. The Ads content quality team is responsible for developing ML models to develop deep knowledge about ads quality, using such knowledge to influence ads ranking and ultimately, delivering positive pinner and advertiser experiences. We leverage a wide range of ML technologies, such as LLM, multi-modal learning, distillation, etc to that end.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Own the technical direction of Ads content quality at Pinterest.
  • Serve as technical authority for engineering design and implementation of end to end systems to develop ads content understanding and quality signals for delivery of relevant high-performing ads.
  • Work with a diverse group of engineers and program managers within the monetization group, and devise effective technical strategy and roadmap.
  • Be hands-on and develop models and systems that lead to step-function improvements of Ads products. Serve as a technical mentor to team members, setting an example for best practices and impact.
  • Research and apply cutting edge ML techniques, like LLM, multi-modal modeling, distillation, human-in-the-loop systems, etc. to enable Pinterest to be a safe and performant advertising platform. 

 

What we’re looking for:

  • MS or Ph.D degree in Computer Science, Machine learning, Statistics, or related field.
  • Experience in both designing and implementing large scale ML applications. Experience with content understanding is a strong plus.
  • Rich experience in leveraging ML technologies in Ads delivery, and deep understanding of delivery tech stack and product development cycle. 
  • Strong execution skills in project management, with the leadership capability for XFN projects. 
  • Experience using LLM, multi-modal modeling, etc is a strong plus.
