The Work itself:

The Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) group prides itself in keeping the applications and systems of Visa up and running to cater to the 24*7 needs of the business. 

  • Support critical applications and ensure the stability of the applications by performing proactive maintenance activities, engage in automation activities, do root cause analysis and remediation. 
  • Ability to write and maintain scripts to monitor system activity including application smoke test activities during production implementations.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools to handle all engineering and application support tasks
  • Engage in production issue troubleshooting bridge calls, provide immediate service restoration, follow up on root cause analysis, and ensure permanent fix is implemented to avoid similar problems in the future
  • Coordinate and execute application releases and production deployments
  • In addition to delivering technically, the candidate will lead by example, be self-motivated, and have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Responsible for managing the performance and tuning of several Visa applications.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs

Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience. 

Preferred Qualifications
• 3 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or more than 2
years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD,
MD).
• BS in Computer Science or related degree or MS in Computer Science or
related degree from an accredited university(preferred).
• 2-5 years of experience in Development or DEVOPS role(preferred).
• Very Good knowledge on any of the Data bases (MySQL, MSSQL or Oracle).
• UNIX Shell scripting, PowerShell, Python or Any other scripting knowledge is
mandatory.
• Expertise in Troubleshooting applications in different middleware stack like
Tomcat, Apache, Kafka, MQ, Streaming services like Flink, Spark.
• Experience in supporting systems that run on Linux & Windows Environment.
• Good understanding of different cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and
Operating models.
• Ability to work as team player by collaborating with different cross functional
teams.
• Good written and communication skills.
• Adheres to Work from Office Policy.
• Great with problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and coordinate while multi-tasking.
• Ability to learn fast and implement latest technology trends in the industry.
• Core Skills on Dockers, Kubernetes.
• DevOps experience with Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Good experience in application written on Go and Rust and troubleshooting
skillset around different system integration issues.
• Implementing CI CD process for seamless deployments.
• Good understanding of monitoring solutions like Prometheus, Splunk,
Grafana.
• Created the deployments, services, and ingress flows for the application setup
in the Kubernetes cluster.
• Participated in release level discussions and gone through the total SDLC and
Agile methodology.
• Support On-Call for all App-Support activities pertaining to On-prim and Cloud
technologies.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 102,300.00 to 144,550.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
