Pay Range: $65,563 – 85,232

The Senior Records Analyst position is available with the City of Fort Worth City Secretary’s Office as part of the Records and Information Management Office and is responsible for consulting, advising, and providing records management support to departments; assisting with administration of the City’s comprehensive records management program in support of the City’s records management officer; and assisting with the implementation of technology projects for the management of electronic records. 

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Library Science, Information Science, Records Management or related field.
  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience working in records or archives management, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Records Analyst (CRA) or Certified Information Professional (CIP) designation.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to produce work that is both accurate and complete.
  • Strong written communication skills and knowledge of principles of basic business letter writing and report preparation.
  • Ability to multi-task along with possessing patience and flexibility during revisions of submitted documents. 
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of records management or archival administration.
  • Experience with records and information management software systems.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of management, City employees and officials, vendors, other government agencies, and the general public.

The Senior Records Analyst job responsibilities include:  

  • Assists Records Manager with the responsibility for assigned services and activities of the Records Management Program for the City of Fort Worth.
  • Assists and participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, departmental business plans, policies and priorities for the management of records and information management.
  • Analyzes City departments’ ongoing recordkeeping practices for compliance with requirements established in State law, City charter and City code.
  • Advises and assists City personnel on a variety of records management issues; assists and directs departmental records liaisons in conducting records inventories.
  • Determines eligibility of departmental records for scanning; coordinating and monitoring scanning with departments and vendors; establishes policies and practices to ensure that all scanning is done in accordance with State law.
  • Assists with the development and establishment of policies and procedures for the City’s records management program, including the creation of administrative regulations dealing with records and information management.
  • Monitors and implements newly established and mandatory minimum recordkeeping requirements established by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
  • Maintains awareness of new developments and technology in the field of records management, incorporating new developments as appropriate into programs.
  • Serves as a liaison between software vendor’s applications/operational staff, users, and in-house technical staff.

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting.

Physical Demands

Light Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
