About the role
As a Marketing Operations Sr. Program Manager at Chime, you will play a crucial role in ensuring Marketing’s ongoing operations are driving impact and reducing overhead. Your primary responsibilities will include partnering with cross-functional teams across Chime to align and sequence company-wide projects, managing Marketing’s annual and quarterly strategic and project planning processes, owning and defining the project management tooling and infrastructure used by Marketing, and managing capacity and prioritization across our various marketing teams. In short, you are building the infrastructure and support models that enable our Marketing team to be best-in-class in Chime’s industry.
You will get things done by bringing clarity out of chaos, diving into the details, and communicating clearly and in a timely manner. You’re great at building relationships, motivating others with vision, and persuading with data. Success in this role is defined by your ability to make an impact with your critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to zoom out and see the big picture, and influencing key stakeholders.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $146,610 and up to $ 207,700. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you will focus on:

Annual Planning Leadership: Drive the development and execution of the annual marketing planning process, ensuring alignment with Chime-wide business goals and cross-functional teams.

Project Management Oversight: Develop and maintain project management tools and frameworks to support the efficient execution of marketing initiatives, ensuring consistent delivery, and transparency into project status via rolled up reporting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders across marketing, product, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment on objectives, timelines, and resources for major initiatives.

Process Optimization: Identify and implement best practices for project management, continuously improving processes to enhance efficiency, communication, and project outcomes.

Resource Management: Oversee resource allocation for key marketing projects, ensuring that teams are equipped with the tools, time, and talent needed to execute effectively.

Risk Management: Anticipate potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges that could impact project timelines, budgets, or outcomes.

Tool Implementation: Lead the selection, implementation, and management of project management software and tools that support the marketing team’s workflow and reporting needs.

Status Reporting: Create and maintain regular reports and dashboards to track the progress of marketing initiatives, providing insight to senior leadership and ensuring timely course corrections when vital.

Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communications, ensuring clear, consistent, and timely updates to all stakeholders.

Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to marketing team members on project management best practices, tools, and methodologies to build a culture of operational excellence.

Strategic Guidance: Using your unique, marketing-wide vantage point, provide strategic guidance to the marketing leadership team on what areas to devote more and less focus to.
To thrive in this role, you have:
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in project management and operations that includes having worked to connect across functions in a business.
- Familiarity with Marketing Operations, either via direct experience on a team or by having worked closely with a Marketing Ops team.

Project Management Expertise: Deep understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) with experience in managing complex, cross-functional marketing initiatives from concept to completion.

Critical Thinking: Ability to think strategically and align project goals with broader business objectives, ensuring that all initiative's chip in to Chime's overall success.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate project goals, timelines, and status updates to diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Tool Proficiency: You are a Jira expert and have exposure to other project management tools (ex: Asana, Monday, Notion)

Leadership and Influence: Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority, fostering collaboration and driving alignment across multiple departments.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret department-wide project data and generate valuable insights for both project owners and executive leadership.
