The desired candidate will work in the Compliance Technology Operations team under Global Ethics & Compliance Organization. This team is in the center of all technology development, Compliance requirements and new product enablement. As a product manager, you are the liaison and strong link between many teams at Visa, bridging the technology, product, and business teams. The main functions will center around developing new features for our current platform, driving new integrations with new businesses, and ensuring first and foremost that AML & Sanctions requirements are fulfilling the regulatory obligations and driving new business enablement.
We are looking for a candidate who has a strong work ethic, leadership skills, excellent judgment and good time management in prioritizing work, and the ability to work in fast paced, team-oriented environment. They need to gain a solid understanding of the payment industry, Visa’s Compliance program and leverage this knowledge to develop solid requirements to build new features. This group supports multiple products and verticals across Visa. Strong collaboration, leadership and relationships are needed to build partnerships with engineering, Operations, Product, Compliance, and other teams across Visa.
The ideal candidate for this role should have a passion for innovation in payments, technology, and product management, be detail-oriented, and can drive results within a complex environment. They will have a good technical background in data base query skills and large-scale platforms to support requests and incidents, data analysis, and remediation process.
The person is a thought leader and familiar with the up-to-date development of the industry in these areas, have exceptional organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, be an analytical and structured thinker as well as with significant experience in customer/partner interaction, management, and software solution delivery.
Essential Functions
As a Senior Product Manager, you will work with the product leadership and share responsibilities to envision, define and design the future of Global AML & Sanctions Compliance technology platforms, and connecting our development strategy to our business plan.
This role is hyper focused on improving existing Compliance applications and third-party integrations, while also exploring new experiences, enabling automation, developing a long-term vision, and partnering cross functionally.
Define product requirements, which involve writing clear, thorough, and detailed user stories for complex features and product sets. Be the primary liaison between business units, technical product managers, engineering, and other applicable groups to ensure flawless integration of new and existing feature sets.
Ability to work on product life cycle activities like discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management.
Understand core product needs and cross-functional business-level services, can clearly define and groom backlog items in terms of product and business value, and is able to articulate the vision and goal for prioritizing those features.
Ability to conduct sprint scoping discussions by collaborating with Global Client Due Diligence (CDD) stakeholders and Corporate IT partners, analyze existing solution to ensure business impacts are identified and are accounted for.
Proficient in activities like Data Analysis, Process Mapping, Impact Analysis, Gap Analysis, Solution Identification, Validation/Testing and Root Cause Analysis.
Quickly and accurately assess the impact of an application issue and communicate the impact to management. Craft incident reports targeted for upper management and operations support in response to issues. Collaborate with development teams, operations, and Compliance to ensure incidents are remediated and impact is clearly communicated per the control framework.
Actively participate in feature refinement sessions to gain understanding of new features and provide input on potential areas of impact.
Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to work in a global environment and drive consensus in cross-functional teams. Build clear product roadmap to support Compliance and business enablement.
Discuss technical implementation details with architects and other technical teams. Collaborate with engineering teams to build robust, reliable, and scalable Compliance tools.
Work very closely with development and QA organizations to ensure technical specifications and final product meet business requirements.
Leverage good understanding of key controls and compliance and regulatory requirements to identify areas for improvement or of concern.
Partner with business operations and analytics teams to build right monitoring capabilities and metrics which helps monitor the health of the platform and facilitates data driven decision making.
Articulate how product features impact downstream adoption and support our overall product strategy. Lead technical strategy, planning and execution across the product lifecycle.
Ensure product vision and requirements are designed with long-term vision in mind and can be launched globally with minimal tweaks.
Lead multi-functional teams through both tactical and strategic decision points, understanding dependencies, tradeoffs, risks, and mitigations.
Regularly communicate associated outcomes, risks, and forward-looking plans/insights succinctly to various team members at all levels, including senior management to help guide and influence strategic decisions for improvement.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications
5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Possess deep technical knowledge and a skill for translating our current and future capabilities into actionable product strategies.
Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present in front of executives, vendors, partners, and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Experience with Compliance systems and strong analytical skills.
Understanding of payment processing and Visa Net/payment ecosystem a plus.
Experience with ISO 8583 and/or ISO20022.
Ability to prioritize critical tasks and coordinate with key stakeholders to accomplish them under duress.
Prior product management experience on a large production line.
Adherence to the best practices and standards providing periodic status updates.
