Sr. Product Manager - Data Governance

About the role...

HashiCorp’s commercial products are now available to our customers as a fully managed Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering. As a Senior Product Manager for Data Governance, you will define the roles, processes, policies, and tools that ensure proper data quality throughout the data lifecycle and proper data usage across an organization, including, but not limited to, the handling of customer data.

You will develop a deep understanding of the data needs of the different HashiCorp products. You will work with engineering, our compliance and legal  teams, and other product managers to help shape the data governance implementation to support all HashiCorp product lines. You are familiar with data handling in public cloud infrastructure and SaaS platforms.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a PM team focused on solving the challenging problems of customer data handling when delivering services on top of the major public cloud platforms.

In this role, you can expect to...

  • Own the business strategy and roadmap for data governance across all HashiCorp products and services.
  • Understand the unique data needs of each product line and define the primitives of standard data governance rules.
  • Participate in detailed planning and prioritization exercises jointly with engineering compliance, and legal teams.
  • Detect areas that are ripe for improvement and establish appropriate data governance goals.
  • Ensure that Hashicorp products and services meet compliance attestation requirements.
  • Influence and collaborate with colleagues to develop data governance solutions.

You may be a good fit for our team if you have...

  • Deep knowledge of data handling on SaaS infrastructure products and public cloud platforms.
  • 5+ years of experience in a PM role with a B2B SaaS product.
  • Experience driving data needs cross-functionally across multiple product lines.
  • Understanding of the enterprise services space and their compliance needs
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on written communication.
  • High customer empathy and a passion for using numbers to understand how customers adopt and use products.

Individual pay within the range will be determined based on job related-factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.

The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:
$195,500$230,000 USD
The base pay range for this role in Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, New York (excluding NYC), Washington D.C., or California (excluding SF Bay Area) is:
$179,300$210,900 USD
The base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro) and Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:
$162,900$191,700 USD
