Cruise is looking for a Sr. Operations Incident Manager II to join our Operations Control Center (OCC) in Scottsdale, Arizona. The OCC assures safety in every stage of operation, including closed-course testing, on-road testing, and commercial driverless services. In this position, you will serve as a crisis manager, leading the resolution of complex and high-stakes incidents involving our autonomous vehicles. Your role is essential in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our autonomous vehicle fleet. You will use your technical expertise and influential cross-functional abilities to drive swift and effective resolution, collaborating with diverse teams across the organization.
This onsite role will follow a swing shift schedule (Sunday-Wednesday; 3:00pm-1:00am MST [four ten hour shifts]; strict requirement). If you're interested in shaping the future of transportation, let's chat!
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Crisis Management: Lead the response to critical incidents involving autonomous vehicles, ensuring rapid and effective resolution to minimize impact on operations and safety
Technical Expertise: Partner with technical experts to support the diagnosis and troubleshooting of complex issues related to autonomous vehicle systems, including software, hardware, and network components
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, safety, legal, communication, and executive teams to coordinate incident response efforts, ensuring alignment and effective communication across all team members
Process Improvement: Continuously enhance incident management processes, tools, and best practices to improve response times, communication, and overall effectiveness
Incident Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of incidents, response actions, and resolutions, ensuring comprehensive documentation for future reference and analysis
Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for team members during incidents, providing timely updates and managing expectations effectively
Training and Mentorship: Mentor and train junior incident managers and cross-functional team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team
Performance Metrics: Track and report on key performance indicators related to incident management, using data to drive improvements
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
7+ years of experience in incident management, crisis management, or a related field, with a strong focus on technical incident resolution and program management
Exceptional technical proficiency with proven experience in a highly technical industry
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive cross-functional teams in high-pressure situations
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences
Ability to work on-call in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines

Military, special operations, or front-line EMS experience
Certification in PMP, NIMS/ICS, FEMA or other relevant frameworks
The salary range for this position is $86,600 - $127,300. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
