About the role

Join Pangea as a Sr. Manager in Payment Operations where you will lead our efforts to expand and enhance our international payments network. In this vital role, you will oversee both inbound and outbound money transfer operations, driving optimization through strategic partnerships to improve speed, reduce costs, and enhance customer experiences. You will report directly to the VP of Operations and play a crucial role in combining business development, analysis, relationship management, and risk mitigation to optimize and expand Pangea’s international payments network.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and prioritize strategic management plans for partners in consumer cards, banking, international remittance, fraud, compliance, and technology.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive initiatives that align with business goals and enhance customer satisfaction and financial performance.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of inbound consumer payments and outbound money transfers for the company.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, Engineering, Vendor Management, and Product departments to ensure operational excellence.
  • Lead and negotiate vendor contract extensions and manage significant new contract discussions.
  • Work closely with Engineering to identify and resolve technical issues affecting customer experiences.
  • Lead a team of 3-4 direct reports responsible for uncovering partnership and cost-saving opportunities, managing termination partner relations, and supervising an Operations Manager in charge of risk assessments, holiday and business continuity planning, payment reconciliations, and site reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in operational scaling within a technology-focused company.
  • Proven track record in managing and developing a high-performing team.
  • Strong experience in managing change and driving efficiency in high-growth environments.
  • Experience in the global payments industry, especially in international remittances, is highly desirable.
  • Experience managing a P&L is advantageous.
