Leader and functional manager of a team of engineers responsible for delivering significant process improvements to production lines including equipment and process re-design as well as being the subject matter experts for complex EFT’s. It is expected that this position be knowledgeable with the latest technologies in the industry.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for machine and process optimization for complex equipment.
- Looks across the site for opportunities to improve manufacturing equipment and processes with the use of new technologies, process/equipment re-design and automation to achieve significant improvements.
- Leads a team that can support Manufacturing and Equipment engineers in resolving issues on the production lines that are escalated to them due to their complexity.
- Create and drive multi-year strategic plan for process improvement projects.
- Represents his teams with executive leadership.
- Manages large projects: Organization, definition, planning, implementation, and control.
- Ensures engineering programs meet specifications, quality goals, target cost, schedule, and remain within approved budgets.
- Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Manage and motivate for higher performance; increase skills levels.
Perform the evaluation for annual MERIT granting, providing feedback to the staff reporting to him/her.
Ensure the implementation of life and career plans for identified personnel with high potential.
Promote leadership development programs, skills and behaviors generated by the corporate and promoted locally.
- Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends to product management activities.
- Ensure the establishment of succession plans for critical positions of the Company.
- Drive our Culture Strategy by fostering our mission, founding principles, individual and leadership expectations.
- Occasional travel is required primarily to the US (up to 20%).
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
- BS in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic or related engineering discipline)
- MS degree in an engineering discipline (preferred).
- Knowledge and expertise in manufacturing equipment and process design.
- Strong analytic skills as proven by track record for analyzing and fixing complex/high technology problems in products and processes.
- High level of English speaking, reading, and writing.
- High level of communication skills in all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 (preferred)
- Experience in the Medical Device Industry (preferred)
- Experience in leading validation and verification processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
