The Sr. Logistics Analyst will be responsible for providing necessary leadership and training to the Waukesha and Welland logistics team members, reporting directly to the Logistics Manager. You will interpret INNIO company policies and enforce company rules, monitor budgets, and meet company targets.
Location – this position has a hybrid work structure to include a combination of working days onsite at our facility in Waukesha & remote from home.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor carrier OTD performance and maintain carrier report cards monthly.
- Assist in the continuous improvement and development of work instructions, as necessary.
- Participate in cadence meetings with primary carriers and INNIO teams, as required.
- Act as a main contact for escalated shipping challenges.
- Monitor performance on the inbound and outbound shipping teams.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective logistics operations.
- Maintain records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Experience in negotiating service agreements with freight carriers.
- Process and allocate correct invoicing fees for primary carrier team.
- Respond to customer inquiries and refer clients/suppliers to proper channels.
- Provide training to logistic team members and suppliers on completion of all shipping documents (BOL, AWB, and commercial invoices) and processes.
- Utilize previous management experience in providing training to logistic team members and suppliers on the completion of all shipping documents and processes.
- Successfully lead and function within a team environment and be able to identify and promote changes for improvement activities through team leading and organization.
- Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible in completing training and performing functions in multiple departments.
Technical Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Business Administration required.
- Three to five years of logistics management experience required.
- One to three years of international shipping/receiving experience.
- Must have previous people management and/or leadership experience with the proven ability to influence colleagues to perform effectively & to be responsible for making sound decisions.
- Strong working knowledge of cross border logistics including import/export and customs clearance, including, but not limited to in-depth knowledge of Customs Regulations (Import/Export) and Incoterms.
- Experience in negotiating carrier service agreements.
- Ability to organize, direct, communicate, and effectively supervise others.
- Ability to motivate others to reach department goals and/or perform to the best of their ability with a positive attitude.
- Must have exceptional MS Office skills including Advanced Excel (EX: creating pivot tables, graphs & charts).
- Must have solid problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to train others.
- Ability to adapt to change in the workplace and flexibility to new ideas from team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
- Ability to travel domestically & internationally up to 20%.
