About the Role
Lyra is looking for a Sr. Health Economist Associate. We are looking for a rigorous and pragmatic thinker with exceptional analytical skills. In addition to providing technical leadership, this person should be a strong, data-driven storyteller who is passionate about communicating the critical returns employers reap from investing in expanded access to high-quality mental health treatment.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an internal SME on mental health ROI as well as applied econometric and cost-effectiveness frameworks
  • Partner with our external vendors and customers on robust cost/ROI studies to support our commercial and research goals
  • Communicate the findings and train internal teams on the use of these outputs
  • Stay up to date with the latest research on the direct and indirect economic costs associated with behavioral health
  • Partner with our GTM teams on client-facing presentations, models, reports, and business case studies to communicate Lyra’s ROI story

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a related role
  • Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics. Other Bachelor (or higher) Degrees may be considered.
  • Completion of at least 1 actuarial exam in pursuit of the ASA, FSA, or other equivalent designation.
  • Deep understanding of applied health economic and actuarial methods with background in predictive analytics.
  • Fully owned health economics projects from end-to-end, specifically healthcare claims analyses
  • Extensive experience working with administrative claims databases
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Collaboration with underwriting, product management, data science, claims or other analytical departments to solve complex business problems
  • Experience developing tools to automate existing processes and/or improve visibility into key performance drivers
  • Proficiency with SQL, and experience with SAS, Python and/or R
  • Passion for expanding access to quality mental health care
