Craft is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Data Platform team responsible for defining and implementing standards for data storage in Databricks using a medallion architecture, defining patterns for interacting with our data, using automation methods to track and monitor all data, and creating tools for data operations. All to power our supplier risk management products and services.
The data platform team(s), aka DISCoE, is growing and covering areas of the business that in the past were afterthoughts. DISCoE’s mission is to make our data a first class citizen of the business from sourcing and ingestion to structure and consumption.
This role is supported by an amazing data product manager, where the two of you will partner to deliver on our mission, and together establish our data vision.
The team has members in the US and Poland. This is a remote role, but we have a strong preference for candidates based in Eastern or Central time zones due to the current team members’ time zones.
What You'll Do
- Lead up to two globally distributed teams with members in the US, Poland, and possibly LATAM.
- Work closely with your Product Manager counterpart, defining and aligning on priority and execution.
- Recruit and retain top talent, leading with empathy and accountability.
- Build a culture of continuous improvement in the team's code, architecture, and processes, and use metrics to measure change.
- Help lead and contribute to engineering-wide initiatives with your engineering leadership colleagues.
- Build beautiful, well-tested pipelines and data structures.
