The Team & Role

As a member of the Marketing team at Zuora, you will play a pivotal role in figuring out the overall strategy for developer marketing. You will be the first hire for developer marketing within Zuora. This position centers on evangelizing Zuora’s usage solution within developer communities and driving the narrative of Zuora (usage) being developer-first. As a Sr. Developer Marketer, you will serve as a vital link between Zuora (Usage) and the engineering community sharing feedback and directly informing our team about your observations and learnings from an engineering standpoint. Your efforts will be crucial in creating and distributing content through various channels.


You’ll be working in a hybrid work environment and will be expected to travel to attend various developer meets and conferences.


What you’ll do

  • Build an active community around usage based pricing
  • Be the voice of the Zuora within various communities where developers are active
  • Actively interact and distribute our content with developers through forums, social media, and other digital platforms to maintain a pulse on the community’s needs and sentiments.
  • Organize and contribute to workshops, webinars, and conference talks to educate developers about Zuora’s usage solutions
  • Develop and sustain a rich library of technical resources including blog posts, tutorials, videos
  • Craft and propagate a compelling narrative about how Zuora’s products address specific developer challenges.
  • Design and demonstrate powerful demos and proof-of-concepts that highlight the strengths of Zuora’s platform.
  • Cultivate relationships with prominent influencers and thought leaders within the developer community.
  • Advise and assist developers within the organization in creating a brand around themselves that will help in distribution of content.

 

Your experience

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, developer relations, or developer advocacy.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, cloud services, and SaaS platforms.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity of billing as a construct. 
  • Proven track record of building and engaging developer communities.
  • Experience with public speaking and delivering technical presentations.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python or JavaScript
  • Passionate about technology and staying up-to-date with industry trends.

 

Nice to haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previously worked as a software engineer for a SaaS company
  • Active participation in developer communities and open-source projects.
  • Experience with content creation and technical writing.
  • Owns a blog or community and has figured out distribution 
  • Experience with subscription billing or financial services platforms.

The base pay details represent the annualized salary range for the posted position. While we share a comprehensive range, a candidate’s final base salary will fall within these guidelines and will be determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to: qualifications of the candidate, job related knowledge, prior related experience, specific and unique skills, the location of the role, internal equity and internal budget.
