World of Concrete, the largest annual international commercial concrete and masonry construction trade show, is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Conference/ Education Manager to be an integral part of their show management team, to contribute to the production of a world-class Education Program consisting of approximately 180+ sessions, with the ability and experience to analyze, develop, implement, and manage all projects associated with a high-quality, comprehensive education program, leading a team of education staff and advisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Create strategic plans to achieve revenue goals, generating new education program ideas, formats, experts, alliances, and audiences. Track industry trends and issues to identify current, new, and alternative growth areas that can be captured for educational programming.
  • Develop content and manage an education program that is comprehensive, balanced and offers attendees maximum opportunity to participate.
  • Manage the Education Production schedule, making necessary changes where needed and allocating assignments to ensure team members stay on track and deliver on time.
  • Work closely with external advisory board to evaluate and determine topic relevance and projected success. Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant industry associations and alliances with special groups i.e. military and schools.
  • Determine and confirm all tracks, speakers, topics, course titles, content, resources, and presentation requirements. Provide clear, direct, timely communication with speakers and/or education partners presenting education sessions.
  • Submit applications for appropriate continuing education approvals and maintain Education Provider status and mandates with industry agencies.
  • Work with marketing staff to develop marketing strategies specifically for the education program, write and/or edit marketing copy that effectively communicates education program highlights, and ensure information on show websites is accurate, timely, and updated as needed.
  • Planning and managing onsite program activities including temporary personnel, speaker coordination, audio visual needs, catering, meeting room assignments/sets, education office & speaker ready room, convention services, etc.
  • Managing education program budget by providing accurate forecasts, ensuring costs do not exceed budget, and reviewing processes for cost-saving initiatives. Analyze processes that increase efficiencies and lead to cost savings.
  • Manage the Registration process for all education needs: setup, testing, onsite logistical issues as well as identifying any reporting inconsistencies.
  • Function as integral part of overall show management team / effort in performing additional duties as required.
  • 7+ years’ experience planning and managing conferences, large meetings, or other industry events. Background in continuing education and marketing preferred. CEM or CMP designation a plus.
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets, a production schedule with time-sensitive deadlines, and a team.
  • High level of proficiency in the use of standard computer software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Project oriented with superior attention to detail, outstanding organization/prioritization skills, and ability to multitask in fast-paced environment while maintaining high level of productivity, quality, and team-oriented results.
  • Excellent proofing/editing and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Strong flexible team player who interacts well with external clients, vendors, and internal teams.
