About the role

As a Commercial Manager , you will play a critical role in shaping and driving the growth of one of Careem’s verticals. You will oversee the P&L for your assigned partners and lead strategic initiatives to maximize revenue, optimize operations, and enhance the customer experience. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will manage relationships with key partners, streamline operational efficiencies, and ensure Careem is the partner of choice for grocers.

What you'll do

1. P&L Ownership & Commercial Growth
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and executing new commercial opportunities with partners.
  • Optimize pricing strategies, promotions, and marketing campaigns to boost sales and improve margins.
  • Conduct regular analysis of partner performance to identify trends, challenges, and growth opportunities.
2. Partner Relationship Management
  • Act as the main point of contact for key partners, fostering strong relationships and trust.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and agreements to secure mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Provide partners with insights and recommendations to enhance their performance and operational efficiency.
3. Operational Excellence
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve operational processes, including stock availability, fulfillment rates, and delivery times.
  • Analyze and improve preparation times and cancellation rates, ensuring seamless order fulfillment.
  • Work with partners to proactively manage inventory, pricing accuracy, and product availability.
4. Strategic Planning & Execution
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the assortment and onboard new partners.
  • Lead initiatives to improve customer satisfaction, including replacements and alternative suggestions.
  • Monitor competitive trends and market insights to ensure Careem’s offering remains top-tier.
5. Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Leverage data and analytics to track KPIs, including revenue growth, cancellations, and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare regular performance reports and present insights to leadership and partners.
  • Use predictive analytics to forecast trends and proactively address potential challenges.

What you'll need

  • Proven track record in commercial management, account management, or category management in the, FMCG, or e-commerce industries.
  • Strong experience in managing P&L and driving growth strategies.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
  • Exceptional negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on operational efficiency and partner success.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Collaborative team player who can influence and drive cross-functional projects.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker).
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and project management tools is a plus
