Position Summary:
Collaborate with the Category Manager / Purchasing Manager / Purchasing Director to define and implement bioMérieux’ Purchasing Strategies for their assigned categories; accountable for their deployment across the Company and ensuring that any local activity is conducted in accordance with the category strategies. Supports operations at site level: manages the local suppliers, ensures the compliance of contracts, manages Suppliers’ performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Communicates the purchasing category strategies under their responsibility and drives the implementation through bioMérieux’ organization (global responsibility). Masters assigned category in terms of cost model, benchmarks, market trends, LCC options, product technical roadmaps, and target costing;
- Supports the cross functional team that works at defining the category strategies under their responsibility;
- Negotiates and agrees to Terms and Conditions/Local Contracts; Manages Frame Agreements; Issues purchase orders to suppliers; Manages contractual compliance and contract execution and a Contract Events Register; Manages and resolves potential claims/litigious situations with suppliers; Escalates the major contractual non-performances; Manages supply changes; Defines the terms of the supplier relationship;
- Prepares and leads suppliers’ price, contracts and Long Term Agreement negotiations;
- Supports the Supplier Panel Business Risk analysis. Provides input for the definition of the Supplier Panel and drives its implementation (including approval of suppliers, jointly with the contributing functions, when not approved). Evaluates the performance of the Supplier Panel of his/her categories and performs regular Supplier Performance reviews (includes also the follow up of corrective action plans and continuous improvement plans);
- Manages and prepares the negotiation with the suppliers on yearly performance targets. Prepares and leads periodic management reviews (local and global performance status, strategic positioning evaluation, business perspectives, strategic product/market developments). Manages long-term improvement initiatives. Mobilizes relevant bioMérieux resources to capture and implement Suppliers’ innovation and improvement ideas.
Education, Skills, & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience in Procurement OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience in Procurement.
- Degree in Business is preferred
- Experience in professional/support functions is highly desired (HR, Finance, Legal, IS/IT, Training, etc)
