Your impact

Handshake is hiring a Sr. Business Recruiter reporting to the Sr. Director of Talent Acquisition.  This role will lead hiring efforts for key GTM and G&A positions across sales, marketing, F&A, strategy, and other areas within the business.  You will play a critical role in building out our GTM motion, working closely with senior leadership and hiring managers to identify and attract exceptional talent.  This will require a deep understanding of Handshake's business and culture to make an impact on employers, educational partners and students.  

This role is a hybrid work schedule and requires working at either our San Francisco or NYC offices.  

Your role

  • Full-Cycle Recruiting: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from sourcing and screening candidates to facilitating interviews, offer negotiation, and closing.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with hiring managers and department heads to understand hiring needs, provide market insights, and offer expertise on role alignment.
  • Pipeline Building: Proactively source, engage, and nurture a network of potential candidates through various channels, including LinkedIn, networking events, job boards, and referrals.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Utilize data and analytics to refine recruiting strategies, assess effectiveness, and make informed recommendations to improve hiring outcomes.
  • Candidate Experience: Deliver an exceptional candidate experience by managing clear communication, timely feedback, and a seamless interview process.
  • Market Insights & Industry Expertise: Stay current with industry trends, competitor hiring practices, and market conditions to adjust sourcing strategies and advise on talent availability.

Your experience

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in full-cycle recruiting with a focus on GTM roles such as sales, marketing, and customer success, ideally in high-growth tech or SaaS environments.
  • GTM Expertise: Deep understanding of GTM functions and familiarity with the competencies required for success in sales, marketing, and customer-facing roles.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to build relationships and partner effectively with senior executives and hiring managers.
  • Sourcing Prowess: Demonstrated expertise in sourcing and building candidate pipelines, including experience with Boolean searches, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other sourcing tools.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives that attract and engage candidates.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in using recruiting metrics and data to inform decisions and optimize recruiting strategies.
  • Tech-Savvy: Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), CRM tools, and other recruiting software (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever).

Compensation range

  • $142K - $165K

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
