About the role

The Sr Automation Engineering Technician will support all technical functions pertaining to the automated equipment in manufacturing and work closely with the Technical Operations team to construct, troubleshoot, and sustain production lines (including test stations, equipment, and processes).  

How you'll make an impact

  • Maintain a safe and open working environment.
  • Understanding mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and automated control systems such as PLC, Servo Drives, HMI, etc
  • First response resource to the Manufacturing team when equipment requires maintenance during production.
  • Perform Preventative maintenance on the automated line on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Monitor and replenish spare parts supply as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for the construction, troubleshooting, and sustaining of test stations and equipment to support manufacturing goals.
  • Operate under the guidelines of GMP/Company QMS.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement to manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and the team's morale.
  • Escalate issue(s) to supervisor, engineer, management, and/or peers in a clear, effective and timely manner.
  • Follow established quality policies and adhere to operating procedures and guidelines.

On your first day we'd like you to have

  • High School level equivalency (English reading/writing proficiency).
  • AS degree in a technical discipline is a plus.
  • 2 - 6yrs in an ISO environment (FDA regulated Medical Device industry is a plus).
  • 5-10 years supporting automated manufacturing assembly lines.
  • Ability to use SolidWorks to modify component and assembly drawing
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team through technical issues.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical and pneumatic issues.

Salary range

  • $46 - $50 (Hourly range for candidates based in San Jose, CA)
  • Compensation for the role is based on geographical location. 
  • Compensation also depends on a number of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
