Sr. Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist

The Senior Compliance Specialist manages the compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices for the organization, ensuring that all activities follow regulatory requirements.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • The review of Affordable Housing resident files for eligibility and compliance with all required laws
  • Review the files based on information presented by the applicants and ensure review of files within 24 hours of receiving
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures as set forth in the personnel manual
  • Monitoring changes in LIHTC, HOME, and PBRA regulations and requirements and implementing modifications as indicated
  • Training attendance annually. The requirement to attend HCCP training within the first two years of employment and include a passing score on the exam to receive the HCCP designation
  • Participates in all tax credit reviews by outside entities
  • Conduct daily audits on assigned property LIHTC, HOME, and PBRA units
  • Provide support, training, and correction to onsite staff regarding affordable programs included but not limited to LIHTC, HOME, and PBRA compliance best practices
  • Collaborate with third-party monitoring agency regarding necessary reporting, action items for compliance, and other issues

Position Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in management of LIHTC, HOME and PBRA properties
  • Exceptional professional demeanor and work ethic
  • Positive attitude with strong teamwork skills
  • Excellent written/verbal communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field of study preferred
  • Must provide list of 2-3 professional reference
  • Travel required
