We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sr. Accountant to join our finance team. The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. TechNexus has a small nimble team and entrepreneurial roll-up-your-sleeves culture, thus being a self-starter that thrives in an independent yet collaborative work environment with a “can-do” attitude is a must. This is an individual contributor role. Below is a non-exhaustive list of key responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, keeping track of fund investments, and ensuring accounting transactions are completed on time.
- Prepare consolidated accounts, investor reporting, periodic Net Asset Value calculations, and year-end financial statements.
- Prepare regulatory reports to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Analyze fund performance on a daily and monthly basis.
- Manage stakeholders, such as fund donors, and follow up with third parties, including investors and fund managers.
- Prepare financial statements, such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements, and publish them on time.
- Reconcile accounts, and handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
- Perform financial audits and ensure financial records are accurate.
- Assist the Director of Finance in preparing organizational budgets and forecasts and assist department leaders with departmental budgets.
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures, as well as financial policies and regulations.
- Communicate relevant accounting/finance findings with senior management.
- Perform daily bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Collaborate with external partners to assist in the preparation of tax returns, annual audits, and other regulatory filings.
Education, Experience and Knowledge Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Three to five years of accounting experience. Previous experience in Fund Accounting desired.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and understanding of the U.S. TaxationAdvanced Excel skills, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
- Experience using accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks, SAP, Oracle, Syft).
