Amare Global Canada, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our Finance team. This person will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada, and will work fully remote. The ideal candidate will have combined experience in both *corporate* and *public* accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Ensure accuracy and completeness in all financial reports.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including preparing and posting journal entries. Monitor account balances and transactions.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file corporate tax returns, including GST/HST and other applicable taxes. Monitor changes in tax legislation and implement necessary updates.
- Accounts Payable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, and payment approvals.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making. Identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Analyze financial performance and variances against budgeted figures.
- Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Ensure adherence to accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Systems and Processes: Evaluate and improve accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Experience in the multi-level marketing (MLM) industry is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards (IFRS or ASPE).
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
