Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with team to establish, contribute to, and uphold the creative vision of each game
- In collaboration with our artists, define the look of the project and elevate other artists' work to maintain craft quality
- Work hands-on to create 2D & 3D concepts
- Establish style guides and specs required to define and document the art the direction of the project
- Communicate the art style across each area of the game including environments, characters, weapons, props, animation, and VFX
- Develop milestones for art team through clear direction and sustainable scoping
- Lead and manage relationships with external art contractors
- Help grow, mentor, and guide the team, including directly managing the art team member
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of related experience as a 3D Game Artist
- Proficiency in working across a variety of stylized art styles
- Previous experience as an Art Director or senior artist with at least one shipped AA or AAA title
- A strong portfolio of work showcasing environment, character, and event concepts
- Proficient in both 2D and 3D art concept creation, to the highest levels of quality
- Broad knowledge and experience in multiple art disciplines including concept, modeling, environments, characters, lighting, VFX and UI/UX
- Able to communicate direction clearly, provide effective critiques, and receive feedback
