Your Job:  

As the Sports Marketing Manager at Brooks EMEA, you will lead the execution of our EMEA sports marketing strategy and develop a plan to reinforce Brooks’ credibility and authenticity in the sport of running. You will ensure execution leverages our sponsored athletes and Sports Marketing programs including sponsorship of events and activations on the ground. 
 
You will oversee and drive designated Sports Marketing events, and the expansion of various athlete programs including the Brooks Trail Runners, Brooks Beasts, Team Brooks and future programs in the EMEA region. You will play a key role in authenticating our position in trail running and will lead the execution of our athlete strategy for trail elite.  
 
You will collaborate closely with EMEA Integrated Marketing Team, EMEA Functional Managers & local Marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of department programs and initiatives as part of the seasonal GTM planning process. You will also partner closely with Global Sports Marketing leadership to ensure alignment to global strategy and consistent execution across the EMEA region. 
 
You will directly manage the Sports Marketing Lead, Athletes and future team expansion will fill out the Events side of the Sports Marketing team.  

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the Brooks EMEA athlete programs including scouting, recruitment, contract negotiation, appearances, and branding.  
  • Oversee execution of trail elite strategy including athlete recruitment, contract negotiation, strategic partnerships, event activations and EMEA trail communications.  
  • Oversee collaboration with footwear and apparel on product partnerships, development, and wear testing for trail elite.
  • Oversee the budget/expenditures and manage payment of all elite athletes and programs. 
  • Ensure athletes are promoting Brooks’ brand per their contract terms and are integrated into Brooks overall Marketing initiatives to fully leverage their impact.
  • Work cross functionally to execute and ensure fully integrated alignment. 
  • Serve as the event lead for Sports Marketing events including race weekends, training camps, brand activations and future event relationships where sports marketing plays a strategic role. This will be very hands-on (from strategy to execution) until the business can support headcount expansion in the Events space. 
  • Contribute to strategy plans for all Sports Marketing Programs and ensure alignment with regional business goals and marketing goals. 
  • Support Marketing Director in development of the annual roadmap for Sports Marketing and tracking KPIs/progress towards goals. 
  • Identify partner opportunities including both products and services to amplify our professional services to athletes, negotiating opportunities to be approved by Director of Marketing.  
  • Plan storytelling opportunities for Athletes& Events with key internal and external stakeholders from ideation to execution; in close partnership with EMEA Integrated Marketing Team & EMEA Creative Studio. 
  • Oversee collaboration with Operations & Business Planning Teams to forecast units for the athlete kit programs and wear testing initiatives. 
  • Work with creative, social, and digital teams to ensure integration of program assets and storytelling align with our brand: Across Athletes & Events.  
  • Track and manage Sports Marketing budgets for monthly reporting & QRF processes, responsibility for budget control and allocation across Athletes & Events. 
  • Manage seasonal planning and timely delivery to key milestones on the EMEA Integrates Marketing process, including GTM content prep, deployment & more. 
  • Direct line management responsibility for 1 Lead headcount initially. 
  • Support Marketing Director in future organization design for the future of Sports Marketing in EMEA region. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing role. 
  • 3+ years of experience planning and executing world class events. 
  • 2+ years of experience in directly managing teams. 
  • Expertise in multi-tasking and working effectively in a fast-paced team environment.  
  • Validated initiative and organizational skills with an eye for detail. 
  • Creativity and innovation regarding new marketing initiatives for events and influencers programs. 
  • Ability to work professionally and efficiently with company partners, athletes, and coaches. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Ability to move matrixed stakeholder teams forwards together, from afar. 
  • Organizational skills are demonstrable experience are critical.  
  • Computer proficiency required with MS Office.  
  • A passion for the running enthusiast and active lifestyle. 
  • Ability to travel frequently; up to 50%.  
  • Available to travel to Amsterdam EMEA headquarters approximately one week per month.
