Speech Scientist

We are looking for Speech Scientist for client in the banking domain.

Responsibilities:

  • This role encompasses both development and ongoing support for Conversational IVRs (Interactive Voice Response) BOTs.
  • Collaborate with different groups within the Bank to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Responsible for capturing and analyzing conversation data, including intent mapping, grouping, and classification building.
  • Write natural conversations that address business use cases.
  • Analyze speech, correct speech errors, identify intents, and improve Natural Language Understanding (NLU).
  • Develop processes and utilize tools to monitor and analyze model performance and outcomes.
  • Process large data sets (text), clean the data, remove bias, and verify data integrity for analysis.
  • Develop/enhance A/B testing frameworks and validate model quality.
  • Analyze trends and patterns to train models that meet business objectives.
  • In conjunction with the Solution Architect, assist the Application Owner, Development Manager, and Technical Delivery Lead by providing effort estimates for new projects and initiatives.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge and expertise in your area, stay current with leading-edge technologies, and emerging trends/developments.
  • Perform tasks independently and resolve highly complex development-related problems.
  • Experience in speech analysis, speech correction, and NLU fine-tuning.
  • Extensive experience in writing utterances (conversations) to improve models.
  • Native or professional proficiency in both English and French is required for speech analysis and data annotation; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience with IVR applications is a plus.
  • Proficiency in data mining and statistical analysis (machine learning/deep learning).
  • Experience in pattern recognition, data visualization, and modeling.
  • Hands-on experience in Conversational BOT tuning and annotation.
  • Experience assisting with voice application development (e.g., Google Dialogflow).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement targeted remediation plans.
  • Experience working in large-scale, dynamic enterprise environments.
  • Fluency in English for day-to-day interaction with internal teams and vendors for IVR application implementation and support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated team player with high energy and the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • A graduate degree is preferred.
  • A degree in Linguistics is a plus.
