Job Description:

  • Prepares program documentation for release (BOMs, Specs, AW, Tech pubs, etc)
  • Assist various team members (Marketing, NPI, etc) in part number assignment
  • Create Finished Good (SKU) part number for all Consumer Solutions products
  • Create and release BOMs (Bills of Material)
  • Review and Process Agile changes from submission to implementation
  • Creates all types of Agile objects (Change Requests and Orders, Deviations, Parts, Programs)
  • Review and analyze proposed changes and work with Core Teams
  • Facilitate finding resolution for ECO/EDO ‘Condition & Reject’ completeness.
  • Participate in Cross-Functional team meetings to create and document new processes
  • Provide training and user reference materials for Agile users
  • Manage Approval Matrix (approvers, acknowledgers, observers and notification)
  • Create unique customer configuration requirements and release supporting documentation for production
  • ODM management of BOMs and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
  • Banned Countries – Restrict orders/shipments to banned countries due to certification

Skills:

  • Detail-Oriented - assess the accuracy of documents, and prepare soft copies, need to be    able to spot problems and errors, and resolve any queries with the appropriate department.
  • Interpersonal Skills – this role requires to work with a range of different people, from internal departments to external business/ODM partners, so strong communication skills are essential (both verbal and written)
  • Computer Skills – Document Control specialist will spend a large proportion of their time using computers, so they need to have great typing skills and be able to pick up software and programs quickly, including Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

Compensation & Benefits Details

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
