What is the SovTech Sales Accelerator programme?

The SovTech accelerator program is a paid, non-linear learning opportunity and will not take a typical academic approach. It is geared towards young professionals (preferably with a qualification) who are entering the industry for the first time and is driven by mentorship, on-the-job experience, and engagement with professionals who have years of experience in the Tech Business Development space. The program duration is 6 months with the possibility of full-time employment, should the graduate prove to match our standards of excellence.


There is a vast shortage of skilled candidates with adequate work experience in South Africa and we are doing our part to help bridge that gap. This program will focus on developing skills such as understanding software or application development, as well as soft skills such as problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills. Our Sales Accelerator program is aimed at newly graduated professionals who are enthusiastic about embarking on their sales journey. The ultimate aim for successful participants is to evolve into Business Development Representatives, with a strategic long-term objective of advancing to the role of Account Executive, overseeing the complete sales cycle.


Our Program will take place over 6 months. We are searching high and low for passionate, ambitious, recently graduated individuals that see themselves growing within the Tech space. While important, we don’t solely look at academic results for consideration to join the program. “We are looking for candidates who are keen on innovation, possess great people and communication skills and show potential in business acumen that resonates with the SovTech culture”, says Gerald Neves, SovTech CEO. The graduates will be appointed discipline-specific mentors to ensure their development in all required proficiencies during the length of the program.


In some cases, the graduates will go through a rotational setup within the Business Development team thereby wearing many hats during their tenure at the company. There will be a continuous evaluation of their performance as they go through the program. This program will be a practical, mentored, hands-on first-job environment where we hope to teach the selected graduates the foundations of the tech industry and how to effectively grow and use their skills. We believe that it is our responsibility as a longstanding industry player, to find and grow talent and that a graduate program of this nature is a solid foundation that is needed in the country.
