Responsibilities (What you’ll be doing):
- Deployment support
- Procuring the hardware by looking the BOM for the project
- Commission the devices by following the documentation and modify the documentation when needed
- Setup the robot picking environment and test the devices by running the hardware test
- Test the software by running the picking test
- Select the proper hardware per project
- Generate the ideas to make the deployment process fast, reliable, sustainable and scalable
- Look for the vendors in Japan to establish the hardware supply process in Japan
- Establish standard operating procedures for the management of internal hardware inventory at Tokyo office
- Data collection and feasibility study support
- Operate a robot to record data (both manually and programmatically) from a variety of sensors, potentially including simulations
- Collect test requirements from R&D and product teams; use them to prepare a test plan
- Run experiments and test software on robotic hardware
- Track performance metrics for various machine learning models
- Report errors and brainstorm solutions with the AI and robotic control teams
- Sales support
- Run the sales demo and contribute by troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems to make sure equipment is operational
- Manage on-site preventative maintenance, repair, test, and diagnostic tasks in Tokyo office
- Record the videos of the picking test
- Write up the feasibility study report for customers
Experience and skills you’ll need:
- Patience and diligence to solve problems
- Flexibility to adapt rapidly changing priorities and environments
- Hands-on experience working in a Linux/macOS command line environment
- Good communication and organizational skills
- 2 + years hands-on work experience in mechanical, electrical or software systems.
- Ability to write up the research report both in Japanese and in English
- Fluent Japanese
- Reading and Written English
- Ability to manage the project
Bonus if you have:
- Python programming experience
- Experience working with robots, robotic sensors including 3D cameras and grippers
