Job purpose

The Solutions Engineer is a key role working within the product team to support the integration and optimization of our new Intara interconnected intelligence products into systems to support national security customers.

In addition, you will work on the development of our demonstration implementations and SDK to enable customers and integrators to extract maximum benefit from their access to Janes interconnected intelligence products to support geospatial, data analytics, machine learning, and graph database applications.

You will support critical customer and partner innovation projects for the defense and national security space. Our graph database, world class intelligence products and supporting infrastructure is expanding, and there will be many opportunities to shape and lead in the design of our evolving estate – you will make a real difference within Janes and for national security.

How you will contribute at Janes

  • Support the integration of our ontologies, graph database, and tools into customer systems of record.
  • Support the development of customer deliveries of Janes interconnected Intelligence products ensuring standards are implemented and maintained.
  • Provide advisory support to customers remotely and deployed on site giving technical support and advisory services on data attributes and integration.
  • Identify new data, tools, and technologies to support customer workflows.
  • Collaboration with the Janes Data Science and Solution Teams to support innovation, experimentation. and demonstration of leading-edge capabilities.
  • Develop and deliver cutting edge demonstrations to showcase Janes Intara supporting a variety of use cases in a variety of technologies supporting business development.
  • Support the creation of documentation and instructional material.
  • Work in product led, agile environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent work experience
  • Comfortable working in small, agile, and globally distributed teams
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Innovative, dynamic, and creative approach to problem solving with a willingness to learn and grow
  • Experience in designing, architecting, and implementing applications in Python (SDKs, APIs)
  • Good knowledge of data engineering tools and best practices using Python
  • Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecyle
  • Good understanding of graph databases
  • Hands-on experience working with Github for code management and versioning
  • Experience with 2 or more of the following technologies: ArcGIS, Tableau, Graph Databases such as Neo4J, Rango or GraphDB; and Relational Databases.
  • Demonstrate interest in computer vision, deep learning, and willingness to grow expertise in these fields
  • US Citizenship

The desirable skills and experience for this role are:

  • Experience with JavaScript Libraries such as React or Frameworks such as Vue
  • Experience with working on Docker, NodeJS, Django, Elastic Search
  • Experience building APIs on NodeJS
  • Understanding of TypeScript
  • Geospatial JavaScript libraries like ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript 4.x / Openlayers / Leaflet / Cesium
  • Experience with Python modules such as ArcPy or ArcGIS API for Python
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technology and services such as AWS (EC2, Lambda functions, S3, etc.)
  • Relevant experience using current Esri technology and leveraging the full ArcGIS Enterprise suite of tools to demonstrate Esri’s patterns of use, including ArcGIS Knowledge
  • Can demonstrate experience with computer vision and deep learning
  • Background in testing, architecture, front or backend development
  • Experience working with national security and defense organizations
