Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Solutions Architect / Technical Lead to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in building and leading our technology team and driving the development of innovative solutions in the life sciences domain in rare and specialty diseases. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, data engineers, scientists, product managers, and information technology professionals to deliver cutting-edge products and services. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for leveraging technology to advance life sciences, someone who is energized by being both a leader and practitioner, so setting the strategy and 'rolling up your sleeves' as needed.

As Solutions Architect / Technical Lead, you will:

  • Manage technology-related aspects of Ambit’s overall business by making architectural and design decisions.
  • Lead Ambit’s tech stack implementation across data, SaaS products and AI/ML.
  • Build a team of software developers and data engineers.
  • Develop and establish standards, architectural governance, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to the development team, ensuring best practices and efficient processes are followed.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and design scalable, robust, and innovative technology solutions and data analytics products that meet business and customer needs.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and with high quality.
  • Take an active role in implementing critical components and resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Participate in hands-on coding, code reviews, and troubleshooting to guide the team in building high-quality software applications.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, facilitating effective communication and knowledge sharing across teams and departments.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology trends, tools, and methodologies, and identify opportunities to leverage them for enhancing our products and services.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation within the team and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement effective quality assurance processes, including testing, documentation, and code reviews, to deliver reliable, secure and high-performing products and solutions.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, proactively addressing issues and bottlenecks that may impact product/project timelines or deliverables.
  • Manage Information Technology team, including overseeing security architecture and operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A higher degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a chief architect or principal engineer role. Proven experience leading and mentoring staff.
  • 5 years of experience working for or supporting BioPharma or Life Sciences companies, having 'strong to expert' domain knowledge including industry processes, commonly available/used data sources as well as data management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in creating strategies and roadmaps, as well as, developing and delivering products and solutions in Pharma or Life Sciences.
  • Experience and proficiency in handling secondary data sources such as claims data (835/837), EMR/EHR, EDI 852/867, sell-in data, Rx dispense, formulary data, as well as digital and sales force execution data.
  • Life sciences-specific knowledge in master data management for entities such as patient, HCP, HCO, and MCO; as well as reference data management including medical codes such as ICD, CPT, HCPCS, NDC, etc. and clinical/medical taxonomies such as HPO and SNOMED CT.
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience working with Databricks, Microsoft Azure cloud platform and services, including proficiency in deploying and managing applications on Azure.
  • 3+ years’ experience with data analytics, machine learning, MLOps, and B2B SaaS technology.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable and secure distributed systems in cloud platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with software development using modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++, and familiarity with relevant frameworks and tools preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth, environment, adaptable to changing priorities, and able to thrive in a dynamic and evolving industry.

Base Salary Range: $153,000 – $207,000
