Job Description:
Softrams is seeking to hire a talented Solutions Architect. The ideal candidate should be highly focused, detail oriented, and able to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. As a Solutions Architect on our team, you'll translate customer’s IT needs and future goals into a plan. Through your leadership, we’ll help transform the way federal agencies use technology including cloud migration, integrating advanced technology, and modernizing legacy systems.
This role will be focused on Business Development efforts, primarily solutioning (ideation and writing) in response to Federal RFPs (Requests for Proposals).
The IT Solutions Architect will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering sophisticated IT solutions for federal customers. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in federal systems architecture, strong understanding of requirements, and a proven track record in developing solutions that address complex federal challenges.
Federal Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal Position of Trust clearance designation.
- Must reside in and be able to perform work in the United States.
- Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- 2-5 years previous experience as a solution architect or similar technology leadership role
- Demonstrated experience developing and solutioning, and leading the development and solutioning, of winning solutions for new and re-compete Federal business pursuits, capture activities and proposal efforts
- Prior experience as a technology leader implementing technology solutions using industry best practices
- Broad knowledge of technology frameworks, techniques, and industry trends
- Experience working with growth and delivery teams in a federal government contracting environment
- Excellent communication and strategic thinking abilities with a problem-solving aptitude
- Solid understanding of broad technology trends and the ability to align innovation with business and customer goals
- Strong communication with ability to convey technical topics in easy-to-understand business terms and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners
Responsibilities:
- Identify strategies for addressing requirements.
- Responsible for dictating design choices to software developers, including platforms, coding and technical levels.
- Establish and enforce standards and practices.
- Crafting software architectural solutions
- Has extensive software development experience and thorough knowledge of a variety of programming languages and logic.
- Responsible for creating and conveying to team members the architectural vision for a program or project.
- Supporting the proposal team in architecting a technical response for government RFP (Requests for Proposals) responses.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Develop and lead the architecture and design of complex IT solutions for DoD (Department of Defense) clients.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed solutions.
- Oversee the development and implementation of IT solutions, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with federal clients and internal stakeholders.

Public Trust Clearance:
This role requires the hired candidate to go through public trust clearance. A minimum of 3 years of stay in the U.S. within the last 5 years is required to be eligible to qualify for public trust clearance sponsorship.
Work Location:
We have open-collaboration offices in Leesburg VA and Baltimore MD for those who may prefer to work on-site. However, Softrams is a 100% remote-first team environment. Softrams works in the eastern time zone and standard work hours are 9am ET to 5pm ET with flexibility around start and end times based on team needs.
