Hybrid position: working 3 days a week from our London office (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday)

Requirements

We’re looking for an experienced legal professional, reporting directly to our Chief Operating Officer to join Blink and shape our contracting strategy, support our global sales team, and drive legal initiatives across Blink. You’ll negotiate key agreements, streamline processes, and ensure we stay ahead on compliance and governance—all while playing a crucial role in our business growth. What you'll be doing:

Commercial Contracts and Customer Relationships:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including customer contracts (on our standard terms and on client paper), vendor agreements, NDAs, and partnership agreements, working in particular with our global sales team. 
  • Update our suite of terms and policies for new features, AI and legal developments.
  • Provide guidance on contract terms and potential liabilities to mitigate legal risks to the sales and customer success teams. 
  • Implement contract management processes and systems to streamline Blink’s legal function and contracting processes. 
  • Work cross-functionally to respond to RFPs, advising on legal governance, contract terms and data protection. 

Legal Strategy, Risk and Advice:

  • Provide legal advice to all areas of the business across practice areas.
  • Advance and implement legal strategies to support business objectives, growth initiatives, and risk management and work cross functionally on achieving them. 
  • Identify potential legal risks to the organization and develop strategies to minimize exposure. 
  • Work with and manage relationships with outside counsel where necessary. 

Corporate Governance and Compliance:

  • Keep Blink on top of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Advise on corporate governance, board responsibilities, and shareholder matters.
  • Manage the employee share option plan, including grants, exercises and plan evolution. 
  • Prepare corporate documents, filings, and statutory records to maintain compliance.

Training and Development:

  • Provide legal training to internal stakeholders, particularly on compliance matters, data protection and sales contracts.
  • Promote legal awareness across the organization to foster a culture of compliance appropriate to our business stage and growth.


What we're looking for:

  • Qualified lawyer with at least 3 years PQE (we are open to discussions on PQE for the right candidate).
  • General all-rounder with particular experience with technology contracts (particularly SaaS), other commercial technology issues and data protection.  
  • Experience in-house in a start-up/scale-up or with start-up/scale is essential.
  • Comfortable working independently as sole counsel on an array of matters, from legal BAU to strategic initiatives.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to handle competing priorities, deadlines and stakeholders.
