Operating globally, Pixl8 Group Ltd is seeking a Software QA Engineer to join our team.
The Role
Pixl8 has a team of over 60 specialists in digital development, design, marketing strategy and project management. We are passionate about our work and looking for a Software QA Engineer to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product and bespoke client project quality.
Ideally, you will be familiar with a range of technologies including CMS, CRM, payments, accounting, event booking, email marketing and communities.
As Software QA Engineer you will play an important part in our company’s product and client project development process. You will be responsible for conducting tests before product and project releases to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs, whilst working to a budget.
You will work in collaboration with Delivery and Technical Services teams to ensure that products and client projects are adequately tested to a high standard and compliant with the original scope/requirements. You will take ownership of each project task assigned to you and ensure quality and consistency throughout the project life cycle. For this, you will need to be highly proactive with a meticulous eye for detail.

Responsibilities
- Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
- Review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics
- Design, develop and execute automation scripts using opensource tools
- Implement tests, debugging and defining corrective actions
- Execute test scripts and monitor/review/analyse results
- Provide test automation coaching and guidance to other members of the QA team as required
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products and bespoke projects to meet client needs
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g. Product Manager, Project Managers, Consultants) to identify and define system requirements
- Liaise with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing.
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools, test strategies, best practices and frameworks
- Evaluate the effectiveness of test automation processes and tools, making recommendations for enhancements as appropriate
Requirements
- An excellent communicator
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in a software development environment
- Proven work experience in software quality assurance
- Strong knowledge of software QA best practices, methodologies, processes and frameworks
- Ability to write clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artefacts like the test data, test design, data validation, harness scripts and automated scripts.
- Designing and executing test plans, manual or automated test scripts/test scenarios execution; and capturing/reporting test results
- Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
- Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management.
- Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
- Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes.
- Coordinating with testers from the client’s side in their effort to test & validate application functionality
- Handling issues arising from internal and external quality assurance activities
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium or other suitable opensource test automation tools
- Hands-on experience with load testing tools, such as Apache JMeter or other suitable test automation tools
- Expertise in automated testing in Frontend environment including the creation of Javascript code compliant with test automation tools
- Knowledge of Javascript scripting language
- Basic knowledge of SQL scripting
- Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment useful

Salary
The salary for this role is based upon experience but will range from RM 4,000 to RM 7,000 per month.
