About You  

We are seeking a candidate with the following skills and qualities: 

  • A commitment to understanding the needs of our Platform customers and providing them with efficient and effective solutions. 
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and hands-on experience with various AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation, and more.  
  • Experience designing, deploying, and managing network infrastructure on AWS using such services as VPC, TGW, DirectConnect and Route53.
  • Proficiency in software development languages like C#, Python, or Node.js, and experience in building scalable and resilient applications. 
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like AWS CloudFormation and Pulumi for automated provisioning and management of infrastructure. 
  • Ability to optimise AWS resource usage to minimise costs and familiarity with AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, and cost allocation tags. 
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with other development squads, providing guidance and support. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions. 
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues quickly. 
  • Willing to participate in on-call support within the team as required. 

The following skills and qualities will be highly regarded: 

  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator would be a plus. 
  • Understanding of AWS Control Tower, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, AWS Config, AWS Organisations, and best practices for ensuring governance and compliance in AWS environments. 
  • Knowledge of AWS security best practices, experience with AWS Security services such as Security Hub, GuardDuty, AWS WAF, AWS Shield, and familiarity with security compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR). 
  • Proficiency in setting up monitoring and logging solutions using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other relevant tools to ensure system health and security. 
  • Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like AWS EKS and AWS ECS. 
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Azure DevOps and GitLab CI/CD. 
  • Experience with other cloud platforms such as Azure and GCP.
