About the group

We are owning several core aspects of Vonage’s engineering capabilities and product domains, mainly in the areas of messaging and video conferencing. We are developing and owning the messaging and meetings capabilities in our UC (Unified Communications) product called VBC (Vonage Business Communication) while also owning customer side notifications.

These days, we are also working on creating omni channel chat capabitilies that are going to be used across the entire organization in various different products. The teams are working end to end on all aspects of the product - from ui to backend and devops and on to maintaining the stack.

What you'll do

You’ll build a brand new development team that will take upon itself more and more of VBC’s messaging and meetings capabilities over time. This includes developing new features, enhancing existing features, maintaining the stack and overall owning the domains technically while also working with the rest of the stakeholders such as product managers, project managers and so on… You will recruit new team members, onboard and mentor them and be in charge of their success in the team and company. You will manage and build on a reliable continuous improvement process. You will ensure efficient delivery at high quality.

What you'll bring

• Proven record of leading, developing and managing similar or larger development teams delivering a software product to customers
• Expertise as a fullstack software engineer of large scale complex software systems with at 5+ years of experience with technologies such as Java, Nodejs, Relational and Non relational databases, Vuejs and Cloud
• Work closely with cross-functional teams such as Development, Operations, and Product Management to ensure seamless integration of new features and services with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance
• Proven record in managing a team producing measurable delivery of software in a timely and high-quality manner
• Experience in leading delivery cycles and work with multiple releases with agile methodologies in a service or SaaS environment
• Experience with managing cloud infrastructure (ideally AWS) through an IAC tool (good to have Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Develop and implement strategies to improve system reliability, scalability, and performance while aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives
• Deep understanding of system architecture , and distributed systems
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work collaboratively within different teams and with differing levels of seniority
• Self-starting and able to self-manage
• Stay updated with the latest services, tools, and trends, and implement innovative solutions that contribute to the company's growth
