MongoDB’s mission is to empower innovators to create, transform, and disrupt industries by unleashing the power of software and data. We enable organizations of all sizes to easily build, scale, and run modern applications by helping them modernize legacy workloads, embrace innovation, and unleash AI. Our industry-leading developer data platform, MongoDB Atlas, is the only globally distributed, multi-cloud database and is available in more than 115 regions across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Atlas allows customers to build and run applications anywhere—on premises, or across cloud providers. With offices worldwide and over 175,000 new developers signing up to use MongoDB every month, it’s no wonder that leading organizations, like Samsung and Toyota, trust MongoDB to build next-generation, AI-powered applications.
We’re seeking curious minds like yours to collaborate with full-time engineers, learning standard development methodologies and gaining practical software engineering experience. Interns are fully integrated software engineers who spend the summer pushing production-level code to make lasting contributions to our products.

About our teams
Our opportunities in Dublin are on our Kubernetes, API Experience, Query or Server Performance teams. See below for more information about the specific teams.

Kubernetes Kubernetes is steadily becoming the de-facto platform of choice for running applications and workloads, allowing highly automated management of containerized workloads in a declarative way. As part of the Kubernetes team, you will be working on one of our three Kubernetes operators, two of which are open source: Community Operator, Enterprise Operator and the Atlas Operator. We aspire to closely monitor and align with the cloud native movement. Our operators represent an additional automation layer on top of Kubernetes to enable customers to deploy highly resilient and scalable MongoDB instances in a standardized, stable and DevOps-enabled Kubernetes environment, irrespective of whether it runs in the cloud or on-premises. We are always looking for people with keen interest in a cloud computing career and eager to learn about modern DevOps, Cloud Native, Golang and Docker.

Query The Query Team is responsible for MongoDB's unique query system, the beating heart of the entire MongoDB server. We take user requests and generate optimized query plans for lightning-fast data retrieval and transformation; we build MongoDB's real-time "change stream" event notification framework; we write the distributed code that targets and merges data across a MongoDB cluster. Right now we're in the middle of a historic rewrite of these core systems to make MongoDB an even better fit for the emerging time series and data analytics spaces, and we're looking for a few adventurous interns to help us make it even better. If that sounds like you, then we'd love to have you come on board as a member of our Class of 2025

Server Performance We drive performance improvements for MongoDB products. As a result, customers get more predictable, scalable and efficient applications. The database is the beating heart of all software applications. If you want to see the big picture and experience a broad range of technologies from processors, storage & networks to code/compilers and cloud-based globally distributed systems - this is the role for you. Previous projects our team has worked on include
- Working with cloud platform companies to evaluate new technologies and optimize MongoDB performance on them - for example reducing carbon footprint
- Comparing and analyzing MongoDB performance with other databases
- Optimizing our suite of benchmarks for continuous integration
- Performance tuning new features before release
- Tuning and simulating customer workloads
