Kepler is on an audacious mission: to bring the internet to space. Founded in 2015, our ambition is to provide internet connectivity in space, whether in LEO, MEO, GEO, or beyond. With an expanding base of early customers and our first 23 satellites in orbit, Kepler is continuing to grow and expand its most important asset – the Team!
We invest heavily to deliver the best products to our customers, and so we’re on the hunt for a top-tier Software Engineering Intern who will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, supporting development and testing of our satellites, and helping us push customer data through our earth stations.
Responsibilities
- Ground Data Systems:
- Support development of our Mission Control System backend through which we control our space assets;
- Assist with the development of the scheduling and routing algorithms we use to deliver our store-and-forward data service to our customers reliably and securely.
- Design and develop reliable, high quality software
- Writing thorough tests and documentation
- Participating in software design review and code review processes
Requirements
- Enrolled in a Computer Science degree program, or equivalent
- Solid Python programming experience
- Relevant experience through past job/internships, hobbies or a university design teams
Bonus Points
- Experience with database design and schema migrations;
- Experience with Ansible; and
- Experience with Kubernetes.
